II.TURKEY-AFRICA PARTNERSHIP SUMMIT

Theme of the Summit: “A new model of partnership to enhance a sustainable development and integration of Africa"

A Decleration and a Joint Implementation Plan of Turkey-Africa Partnership for 2015-2018 will be adopted during the Summit. Joint Implementation Plan includes priority areas such as agriculture, education, health, trade and investment, energy, peace and security.

The Summit will be held in accordance with the Banjul Formula. Thus, following Head of States/Governments/Dignitaries will be present:

4.Algeria (NEPAD Founding Member)
5.Egypt (NEPAD Founding Member)

8.Republic of South Africa (NEPAD Founding Member)
9. Senegal (President of the Orientation Committee of NEPAD)
10.Libya, President of the AMU
11.Zimbabwe, President of the SADC
12.Kenya, President of the EAC
13.Democratic Republic of Congo, President of the COMESA
14.Ethiopia, President of the IGAD
15.Ghana, President of the ECOWAS
16.Chad, President of the ECCAS
17.Chad, President of the CEN-SAD
18. Equatorial Guinea, Host Country:

Side events: There will be two side events at the margin of the Summit. Both side events will be at the Ministerial level and be held on 20 November 2014.

First side event will be the Turkey-Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Foreign Ministers Meeting.

Second side event will be held among the Ministers of Economies of Turkey and Chairing Countries of the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) as well as Secretary Generals of the RECs and representatives of the Turkish private sector. It is the Turkey- RECs Meeting.

The Summit will start with high level officials meeting on November 19, continue with Ministerial Meetings on the second day and end with the Summit of Heads of States/Governments on November 21.
